Aure-levyn musiikkia tullaan käyttämään Wiipurilaisen Osakunnan Laulajien (WiOL) syyskonserteissa. Konserttien teemana on minimalismi ja ekspressiivisuus. Tiedossa on mielenkiintoinen musiikkimatka, jonka säveltäjinä toimivat G. Holst, U. Sisask, P. Haapanen ja P. Nørgård.

Kuoro esiintyy kahtena iltana Helsingissä. Ensimmäinen konsertti pidetään torstaina 27. marraskuuta kello 18.00 Myllypuron kirkossa ja toinen tiistaina 2. joulukuuta kello 18.00 Paavalin kirkossa.
Vapaa pääsy (käsiohjelma 10/5 euroa).

T O I S T E – from minimalism to expressiveness
Our music from Aure album will be used at the upcoming concerts of WiOL (Wiipurilaisen Osakunnan Laulajat) choir. The theme of the concerts is minimalism and expressiveness. It will be a fascinating musical journey with composers G. Holst, U. Sisask, P. Haapanen ja P. Nørgård.

The choir will give two concerts in Helsinki. The first one will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2008 6:00pm at Myllypuro church and the second one on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 6:00pm at Paavali church. Free entrance (program 10/5 euros).

Pimeä Puoli -näyttelyn teemana on ihmisten salaiset ja pimeät puolet, joita ei näytetä kellekään. Ajatonta ja ajankohtaista siis - vertauskuvallisesti ja maassamme viime aikoina myös karmaisevan konkreettisesti.

Something completely different - but still relating

On May 28th, vocalist-guitarist Juho Koivuaho was diagnosed with leukemia. He is currently treated at the Tampere University Hospital. The first results of the treatment have been very good and the fighting spirit is high.

During the past winter and spring we have been composing and arranging new music. Seems like we left the improvised experimenting to the shores of Aurejärvi and moved (back or forward) to the militarian discipline. The new music could be described with words and idioms such as jylhä, ylväs, massive, grandeur, "the whole sky out of its place-putting", intentionally pompous, and Morjesta pöytään. (Hi-there to the table)

The future will include Plain Fade pieces titled as: New day dawning, bursting (Parts 1&2), Lights of Prague, Black and white Finland, Northbound frontline, Getsemane and Kikkelivalssi. (Waltz of Kickel)

For obvious reasons, it is impossible to make a schedule about new releases and gigs right now. But we will return to our Pyynikki rehearsal slot ASAP and when the time is right...
